Ardent
Seeds was established in 1979, growing seed crops on the family 250
ha mixed farming property, “Meldon Park” at Oaks in the
North of Tasmania. In 1992, Ardent Seeds commenced cleaning seed for
their own and contract crops and made the transition to a specialised
seed production and cleaning operation. Robert and Jane Dent continue
the tradition of producing high quality grass, grain and legume seeds
for the Australian and export markets.

First settled
in 1833, the Oaks district is situated on the lower reaches of the
Liffey River in the central north of Tasmania with a backdrop of the
Great Western Tiers to the south and the Ben Lomond, Mt Barrow and
Mt Arthur to the east.
