Our containerised system allows for field collection direct from the header, providing a sealed delivery system that reduces the risk of external contamination, transport downtime and trucking costs. Inward seed is stored in individual containers before cleaning which allows each line to be stored separately. This system enables complete cleaning of storage containers between lines.

Our handling systems therefore ensure identity preservation and reduced risks of contamination.

Our facility is Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) approved for direct export. (www.aqis.gov.au) This approval ensures the highest standards in handling and cleaning are constantly maintained.

Innovation in Drying

Ardent Seeds is currently commissioning a drier that utilises a modular product handling system to allow batch drying of our wide variety of seeds. This system continues the identity preservation of the individual lines. It reduces the risk of cross contamination through the ability to thoroughly and speedily clean the system between batches.

The dryer utilises a system of stirrers that reduces drying time and ensures uniformity of drying. Over heating of seed or “hot spots” affect seed germination. Failure to reduce moisture levels uniformly results in losses from heating in storage.
