Ardent Seeds partners with Tasglobal Seeds, a plant breeding and selection company specialising in alternative and niche species. Tasglobal Seeds is developing grasses and legumes that better match species to specific environments and climatic conditions. For example:

Serradella - a pasture legume for acid sands.

Vetch – for specialist spring sown hay crop,

Red fescue - an extremely persistent line for difficult environments such as north facing slopes.

Ardent Seeds will be commercialising and wholesaling these species as they develop.

 

Ardent Seeds is a shareholder in Tasmanian Seeds Ltd, formed by a group of innovative of seed growers. TSL holds the rights to new oat varieties Bass and Targa. Ardent Seeds clean and distribute for TSL.

Ardent Seeds has a close association with DPIWE plant breeding programs and undertakes initial multiplication for new varieties. Ardent Seeds undertakes agronomic field trials in association with DPIWE Agronomist Stuart Smith.

Ardent Deeds has a technical agreement with Lefroy Valley, national specialists in seed treatment technology. (www.lefroy-valley.com.au) This agreement will lead to further technical innovation and new products in the future.
