Grasses and Clover


Victoca perennial ryegrass - A very persistent grass for a wide range of conditions where persistency is important.

Tama ryegrass- A short lived, fast growing Italian ryegrass for quick establishment and feed production and also green manure.

Demeter tall fescue - A summer feed grass particularly suited to heavy and waterlogged soils.

Hamua red clover - A NZ red variety, a well-proven and well adapted variety for inclusion in general purpose pasture mixes.

Oats

Bass - A locally bred forage oat with excellent recovery from grazing.

Targa - Also a result of a DPIWE breeding program, dual purpose forage and grain oat suitable for hay production.

Esk - Another Tasmanian bred oat; a traditional dual purpose variety suitable for a wide range of conditions.

Quamby - A spring variety for grain but also suitable for hay and chaff.

Croxton and Glenelg - For both seed, human consumption and bird seed.

Lupins

Fest - A high alkaloid blue lupin ideal for green manure crops.

Victoca perennial ryegrass -
One of Australia’s most persistent ryegrasses, selected from Victorian rye grass in a Tasmanian Department of Primary Industries Water and Environment (DPIWE) selection program. (www.dpiwe.tas.gov.au) Ardent Seeds own the PBR (Plant Breeders’ Rights) and, if required, can be certified to OECD Standards for export, particularly to EC and USA.

We are currently trialling new genetic material for commercialisation in the near future.
